Meet our Principal Physiotherapist

Ms. Emily Heah

Emily, originally from Malaysia, graduated in the National University of Malaysia (UKM) with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy. She is a senior physiotherapist who specializes in treating scoliosis, musculoskeletal injuries and women’s health-related condition, and she has over 13 years of clinical experience.

Emily is an “Advanced 3D Treatment of Scoliosis” certified physiotherapist, awarded by the Scoliosis Rehab Inc (USA) and the International Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) in year 2013. Besides, Emily is a “Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis” (SEAS) certified physiotherapist, awarded by Italian Scientific Spine Institute (ISICO) in year 2018. She is also certified in Spinal Manual Therapy. In year 2019, she has completed the FITS, Poland (Functional Individual Therapy Of Scoliosis) training program under mentorship of the founders of FITS – Dr. Marianna Bialek & Mr. Andrzej M’Hango. In year 2020, she has completed the Master Course “Principles and Practice of Scoliosis Conservative Treatment”.

Before Joining BREMJ

Prior to joining BREMJ, Emily worked as a physiotherapist in both private practice and private hospital (Core Concepts Pte Ltd, Singapore & Penang Adventist Hospital, Malaysia). In 2012, Emily helped set up the Scoliosis Management Clinic in the Penang Adventist Hospital, and has treated many clients there. Besides, she has been interviewed twice by the local newspaper of Malaysia (Guang Ming Daily) on raising awareness of scoliosis treatment and educating the local community about scoliosis management. She delivered public health talks in Malaysia and was very involved in community service.

In addition, Emily’s passion lies in finding out and treating the root cause of the musculoskeletal problems of her clients, besides managing their symptoms. She believes that this allows a more lasting and optimal outcome for clients.
